Question about Macy's cosmetic department and getting your make-up done there?

Are you going to be like on display in the middle of a store sitting at a counter? I mean for a full face make-over. Is there any privacy at all for that? And for anyone who's brought in a pic to show what you wanted- do they really make it look like it is in the pic? -Like are they good at copying it and listening to what you want? Well, you will be sitting at a public counter. But people aren't staring at you. The clinician will take off your make, work their magic then put a whole new face of makeup on you. But there really isn't any privacy. If you bring in a pic they will do their very best to get the look. At the Clinique counter, there is a model with really smokey green eye makeup. I told the clinician that I wanted that makeup. She did an awesome job! It didn't look exactly the same because she make it work on my face with my skintone, eye color, etc. Yes, they will listen and they will ask you what you want. Just be sure to speak up and be firm about things you do and don't want.

they will look at a picture and try and give you the look you're asking for, but there is very little privacy when you're having your make-up done in a department store. I know that sounds bad because you think all eyes are on you. but that's really not the case. women and girls come to Macy's all the time to get their make-up done, and people don't stare or anything like that. just go and do it, you'll be happy that you did.


I would also recommend going to the Lancome counter to have your make-up done. they have some great girls working for them, and they really know how to apply make-up the way you want it. they also have some great products.


by the way, you can call ahead or stop by their counter to make an appointment to have your make-up done at a time when there's the least amount of people in the store if that would help you feel more comfortable.

I've had my makeup done at dept stores before and no you don't feel like your on display. ppl hardly even pay attention. you may get a few admires as they walk by. I had my makeup done at different stores for proms and parties and I've always liked the results. As far as how well they'll do at copying the pic, every makeup artist is different so u'll just have to take the risk. They won't do anything you don't want them too though. good luck!
